Shiloh Cemetery

This is a picture of Shiloh Cemetery in Nicholas County, Kentucky. It is landlocked on all sides by private land. We had to ask permission of a farmer so that would could pull up near the cemetery. He was very kind and let us park in his yard so we could visit the cemetery. I have 2nd and 3rd great granparents that are buried here. Since the cemetery is landlocked, is has received no care and is quite run down. It was very difficult to navigate due to the overgrowth of the ground cover and the trees that have grown over a of the stones. I will be adding more stones for this cemetery as time permits. I am sure that there are some great finds in here if someone digs deep enough!

It's sad to see cemeteries in this state. One of my ancetsors is buried in such a cemetery. He was a veteran of the revolutionary war.
